Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team in Te Rapa, Waikato. As a mid-senior level professional, you will play a crucial role within our Service Desk for an MSP. You will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for various systems and networks.

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of IT systems and networking.

- Experience with server administration and maintenance.

- Proficiency in Office 365 Advanced Tools (such as Azure AD, Security and Compliance).

- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.

- Project planning and management.

- Confident in clear and direct communication with clients (senior management) and other team members.

Responsibilities:

- Provide Tier 3 support for the Service Desk team

- Plan and Manage IT projects such as Onboardings and Complex Changes.

- Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to systems and networks

- Perform server maintenance tasks, including updates and patches

- Implement security measures to protect systems from cyber threats

- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of IT infrastructure

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (preferred)

- 5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering

- Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or CompTIA Network+ (preferred)

- Experience and/or qualifications in Project Management (preferred)

- Knowledge of ITIL framework is a plus
