Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Zookeeper. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of our zoo animals, ensuring their health and well-being. This role requires hands-on experience working with a variety of animal species and a strong commitment to conservation efforts.

Skills:

- Experience working with a variety of animal species

- Knowledge of animal behavior, nutrition, and health

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of the job

Responsibilities:

- Provide daily care for zoo animals including feeding, cleaning enclosures, grooming, and monitoring behavior

- Maintain accurate records of animal health and behavior

- Assist in the development and implementation of enrichment programs for animals

- Monitor visitors to ensure they are following zoo guidelines around animal interaction

- Assist veterinary staff with medical procedures as needed

- Participate in conservation efforts both on-site at the zoo and in partnership with external organizations

Qualifications:

- Certificate III or IV in Captive Animal Management or equivalent qualification

- Minimum 2 years experience working with exotic animals in a zoological setting

- Valid driver's license

- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed
