About us: 

Woodford House is a leading special character, state-integrated boarding and day school for girls in Years 7 to 13, located in the heart of Hawke’s Bay. We are seeking to appoint a motivated, passionate and highly capable Year 7 / 8 Teacher to join our vibrant Intermediate Faculty in a permanent, full-time position commencing in Term 1, 2027. 

About the role: 

We are looking for an outstanding Teacher who is committed to inspiring learners and contributing to both the academic and holistic success of our students. 

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Year 7 / 8 Teacher who demonstrates current, evidence-informed teaching practice and a strong understanding of the science of learning. Fostering student engagement, achievement and wellbeing, while working collaboratively within a high-performing teaching team will be important in this role. 

There is also the opportunity to contribute to teaching and learning across other year levels within the school. Our students are motivated, capable and enthusiastic learners who embrace challenge and strive for excellence. 

About you: 

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • Current registration with the Teaching Council of New Zealand 
  • A recognised teaching qualification 
  • Strong knowledge of the science of learning and evidence-based teaching approaches 
  • The ability to create engaging learning environments that promote strong student outcomes 
  • A collaborative approach and a commitment to contributing to our future-focused learning goals 
  • Strengths in structured literacy and/or structured mathematics are highly desirable 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • A commitment to our special character, school values and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
