About the role:
We are seeking a CA qualified Financial Controller to join our team in Levin. This permanent, full-time position is responsible for supporting the Group’s financial control environment, consolidated reporting and tax compliance, while partnering with allocated subsidiary businesses to provide financial insights and support decision-making. The role offers a broad and varied workload, combining technical accounting, business partnering, process improvement and commercial support across a diverse group of businesses. It requires a hands-on approach, strong attention to detail and a willingness to get into the numbers, while also helping managers understand and improve business performance. This is a role where you can genuinely add value, influence outcomes and make a visible difference.
What you will do:
- Prepare consolidated group financial statements, maintain strong financial controls, support external audits as required, and contribute to the Group’s tax compliance obligations.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes for allocated subsidiary businesses, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data to senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Provide leadership and support within a small, collaborative finance team while continuing to develop your own skills and experience.
What you will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA) is essential.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial controller or senior management accounting, preferably within a group structure with multiple subsidiaries.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and controls
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Confidence partnering with operational teams and explaining financial insights
