Are you friendly, reliable and passionate about pets? Pet Essentials Palmerston North is looking for two enthusiastic part-time Retail Assistants to join our team and help provide excellent service and practical advice to our customers.

Available Positions

Role 1 – Part-time Retail Assistant  Sunday and Monday  14.5 hours per week

Role 2 – Part-time Retail Assistant  Thursday, Friday and Saturday  24.25 hours per week

About the Roles

As a Retail Assistant, you will help create a welcoming in-store experience while supporting customers to choose the right products for their pets.

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service
• Assist customers with product selection and general pet-care enquiries
• Process sales and handle customer transactions accurately
• Replenish stock and maintain attractive product displays
• Keep the store clean, tidy and well organised
• Support the wider team with day-to-day store operations

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Enjoys working with people and has a genuine interest in pets
• Communicates clearly and provides excellent customer service
• Is dependable, well organised and comfortable working as part of a team
• Can confidently complete the physical tasks involved in retail work
• Has previous retail or customer-service experience; pet-industry knowledge would be an advantage
