Description

Are you ready for a fast-paced role where every day brings something new? If you’re enthusiastic, organised, and love helping people, we’d love you on our team! At Walter Findlay Ltd, we’ve been proudly baking bread in Gisborne for over 100 years, and producing breadcrumbs and batter blends across New Zealand, and internationally, for more than 20 years.

The Role

As a key member of our administration team, you’ll be the vital link between our customers and our wider business. We’re looking for someone with energy, passion, and a genuinely positive attitude to help us deliver exceptional service every day. This permanent part time position is a job share arrangement with an existing employee and the ideal candidate will be able to commit to working 21 hours per week which consists of 1.00pm – 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am – 1.00pm on Fridays. We are looking for someone quite flexible who can on occasion work additional hours depending on business needs. Your responsibilities will be varied and interesting – ranging from processing orders, invoices, and payments, to supporting manufacturing and distribution operations, ordering supplies, handling phone calls, greeting visitors, managing mail and banking, and maintaining our social media presence. You’ll also have opportunities to support other corporate functions when required, making this a dynamic and rewarding role.

About You

You’re confident, friendly, and love helping others. With strong communication skills and a professional phone manner, you’re also highly competent across Microsoft 365 and database systems. You’re organised, service-focused, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Physically capable of occasional lifting and product picking, you bring excellent presentation, reliability, and a positive attitude to everything you do.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us

When you join Walter Findlay Ltd, you become part of a team that genuinely cares – about food, about family, and about our community. We’re committed to creating a supportive, positive workplace where people feel valued, safe, and able to thrive. We take pride in producing high quality, innovative food products in a sustainable way, and we take the wellbeing of our people seriously. In addition to being part of a business with deep local roots and strong values, you’ll also enjoy a competitive remuneration package that recognises the skills you bring.

Applicants must hold a current work visa or be eligible to work in New Zealand.
