Waikato Women’s Refuge Te Whakaruruhau believes that the whole whanau deserve to live a life free of domestic violence and abuse. Our crisis service operates 24/7 to provide safe housing, advice and community based support for whanau, as and when they need it. Our top priority is ensuring the safety of women, men and children at a time when they feel most vulnerable.

We have Kaimahi/Advocate positions available:

The Kaimahi Advocate position has the primary role of providing quality services to whanau who are based in Hamilton and the Waikato region.

Tasks include;

Crisis intervention

Community support & advocacy

Child advocacy

Case management

Data entry

Case notes

Assessment & review

The position requires the successful applicant(s) to work 40 hours per week and may be required to work a rotating roster as well as some occasional on call shifts.

You will work as a member of the team and manage casework in a manner that is caring, culturally appropriate and practical.  The work is ‘time-sensitive’ and requires a high degree of sensitivity, organisation and ‘follow-through’. Efficient and effective use of computers and keyboard skills and specifically the Office Suite is necessary.

Training will be provided.
