Description

Shoot work that changes how people see themselves.

At Verve Intimate we create intimate portraiture that helps people see themselves differently — celebrated, confident, and completely at ease. As we open our new Auckland studio, we’re looking for a contract photographer to join the team. You are where the transformation begins: the session itself, where a nervous client becomes someone who loves what they see.

About the role

You’ll shoot the bookings that fall on your scheduled days, guiding each client from nervous to at-ease and capturing flattering, technically excellent images. You work independently, to our standard, and you own the session from arrival to handover. This is boudoir — you’re not photographing families, you’re photographing one person’s relationship with themselves, and that changes everything about how you work.

What you’ll do

  • Create and lead every session — run your shoots end-to-end, from arrival to handover, in a private, judgment-free space.
  • Make clients feel safe — set the tone from hello: warm, calm, unhurried and entirely non-judgmental.
  • Capture beautiful images — flattering, varied images every session, shot to the Verve Intimate standard.
  • Introduce the next step — deliver an inspiring post-session gallery walk, introduce pricing and ideas, and hand over cleanly to the design team.
  • Finish on the day — complete all session admin — flagging, export, archive and handover notes — the same day, every time.

How you’re engaged

  • Paid per shoot — you invoice per session, with your rate set by our ranking system — the stronger your results, the higher your rate climbs.
  • Weekends pay more — Saturday and Sunday sessions attract a higher rate.
  • Scheduled days — you shoot the sessions that fall on your set days, with a stable roster.
  • Full training — you’ll be trained and signed off in the Verve Intimate way of shooting before your first solo session.

Who you are

  • A master of flattery — a deep understanding of the posing, lighting and angles that make every body look and feel its best.
  • A personality clients love — warm and brilliant with people one-on-one; people should book you as much for how you make them feel as for your images.
  • Technically strong — confident with light, composition and a creative eye.
  • Always improving — you treat every session as a chance to sharpen your craft.
  • Discreet and reliable — self-motivated, and you finish every job on the day.

Requirements to contract

  • An independent contractor — you operate your own registered business and invoice for your sessions.
  • Public liability insurance — current cover appropriate to studio work.
  • Other contract work — Verve cannot be your sole source of income.
  • A signed contractor agreement — with Verve, before your first session.

How to apply

Apply via SEEK with your CV and a link to your portfolio — we’d love to see your boudoir or intimate portrait work. Applications are handled with complete discretion.

PLEASE NOTE:  Submission without portfolio and application form will not be reviewed.
