Position available: IT Systems Engineer
We’re looking for an IT Systems Engineer / Microsoft 365 specialist who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with clients, and helping them get the most out of their technology. This role also includes recommending and selling products and services that genuinely improve client outcomes.
We are open to suitable candidates who have a broad knowledge and understanding of IT troubleshooting, M365, IT networking and VOIP.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Managing your assigned portfolio of clients and being their main consulting contact
- Building strong and lasting relationships with your clients through regular meetings and engagements
- Respond to client enquiries and provide technical support via various channels (phone, email, helpdesk, etc.)
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues reported by clients
- Document and track client issues using a ticketing system
- Supporting the implementation of M365 solutions
- Preparing proposals and quotes, and helping clients choose the right tools and services
- Identifying opportunities to mentor and support the team through continual learning and development
What you’ll bring
The below attributes will also contribute to your success:
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Solid experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint deployments
- Experience with migration of on-premises server to Entra ID
- Knowledge about AWS or other VPS providers
- A genuine interest for software implementation and Microsoft technologies
- Confidence working directly with clients and explaining technical ideas clearly
- Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
- Ability to work as part of a team and build lasting relationships
Preferred Skills:
Someone who has experience working in Managed IT services and has good knowledge of:
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 tenant
security, with proven experience in security hardening, strategic planning, and
end‑to‑end implementation
- Knowledge of Entra ID
- Windows and mobile device support
- Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, firewall)
- Troubleshooting across apps, devices, and networks
- Product knowledge across common business apps
- 3CX phone system
- NX witness
- AWS cloud knowledge
- Web hosting knowledge
- Good communication skills
- Strong client and customer relationship‑building skills
- Must be a NZ Citizen or hold permanent residency
- Must have a NZ Driver’s License (Full)
- Must reside in Manawatu area.
