About the Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Production Lead to join our Christchurch production team and help drive the successful delivery of our visualisation projects.
This role sits at the heart of production, providing day-to-day leadership and direction across assigned projects. You’ll coordinate people and priorities, maintain quality standards, monitor progress against estimates and help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
About the Role
Working closely with our Production Manager and Project Managers, you’ll take ownership of production delivery across your assigned projects.
You will:
- Lead day-to-day production activities, including stand-ups, task allocation, priorities and deadlines.
- Review project scopes, schedules and production requirements and translate these into clear direction for the team.
- Participate in client meetings where appropriate to build an understanding of their needs and intended outcomes, and use this context to help guide production delivery.
- Monitor production progress, hours and estimates to keep work on track and within budget.
- Maintain high standards of technical accuracy, aesthetic consistency and overall quality.
- Identify and resolve production issues and communicate risks, resource requirements and potential delays.
- Work closely with Project Managers to coordinate workflows and support effective project planning.
- Prepare and peer review production estimates and work breakdown structures.
- Oversee quality assurance processes and ensure required QA documentation is completed.
- Mentor and support production team members and identify opportunities for training and development.
- Help improve production workflows, processes and efficiencies.
- Contribute to research and development initiatives and new ways of delivering value to our clients.
- Assist with hands-on production work when required.
About You
You understand how strong creative and digital work gets delivered and enjoy bringing structure and direction to the production process.
You’re comfortable leading people without needing to formally manage them and can confidently juggle competing priorities. You’re proactive and curious, willing to ask questions and find the answers you need, and able to determine and manage priorities throughout the day. You communicate clearly, have a strong eye for quality and understand the need to balance creative ambition with deadlines and commercial realities.
You’re also curious about emerging technologies and open to using AI tools to improve the way you work, solve problems and deliver better outcomes.
You may already be working as a Production Lead, Team Lead or Technical Lead, or you could be an experienced 3D professional ready to take the next step into a broader production leadership role.
You’ll Bring
- Relevant experience in 3D visualisation, animation, digital production or a related creative or digital environment.
- Strong knowledge of 3D production processes and workflows.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and motivate others.
- Strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- The ability to analyse and interpret project and resource information to support production decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- The confidence to identify problems, make sound decisions and help drive issues through to resolution.
- Experience in a technical lead, team lead, production coordination or similar role would be an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with 3D software and Adobe Photoshop.
