- Christchurch-based, office-based role for confidentiality and security of data reasons.
About the Opportunity
If you’re an experienced 3D visualisation specialist who enjoys combining technical accuracy with high-quality visual storytelling, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for a 3D Visualisation Specialist to join our Christchurch production team, creating accurate, realistic photo-simulations and ground-view 3D animations that help our clients communicate complex projects clearly and effectively.
About the Role
This is a hands-on production role where you’ll work across the visualisation process, from creating detailed 3D assets and environments through to rendering, compositing and post-production.
You will:
- Create accurate, detailed 3D models and environments, including infrastructure, equipment, buildings and vegetation.
- Produce high-quality photo-simulations of proposed infrastructure, equipment and built assets.
- Match 3D cameras to source photography, including perspective and lens characteristics.
- Recreate natural and artificial lighting conditions using supplied data.
- Render still imagery and animation sequences in Redshift and composite final imagery in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere.
- Match colour, atmosphere, shadows, reflections, grain, focus and other image characteristics to achieve realistic results.
- Carry out technical and visual quality assurance to ensure every deliverable meets Truescape’s standards for accuracy, realism and quality.
- Undertake post-production of ground-level, road-based 3D animations using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Contribute ideas that improve workflows, quality and visualisation standards across the team.
About You
You’re someone who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with creativity. You have a strong eye for detail and take pride in producing work that is not only visually impressive, but technically accurate.
You’re comfortable working with technical and project information, can manage your time effectively across deadlines, and enjoy collaborating with others while also taking ownership of your work. Most importantly, you care about quality and are motivated to produce work that exceeds client expectations.
You’re also curious about emerging technologies and open to using AI tools to improve the way you work, solve problems and deliver better outcomes.
You’ll Bring:
- At least two years’ hands-on industry experience using 3ds Max, Maya or a similar 3D package.
- Demonstrated experience completing accurate 3D animation and visualisation projects, supported by a well-rounded portfolio.
- Strong skills in importing data, modelling, lighting, camera setup and animation, ideally using 3ds Max or similar.
- Experience with texturing and image creation, masking and compositing using Adobe Photoshop or similar.
- Post-production skills using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects or similar, including motion graphics, camera tracking, masking and visual effects.
- The ability to interpret resource and project data and translate it into accurate visual outputs.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively, take guidance and contribute positively as part of a team.
- Experience working in an English-speaking environment at a technical and professional level.
- An appropriate qualification in Media, Animation, Graphic Design or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of Unity and experience with Forest Pack would be an advantage.
