Description

Summary:

The Orchard Supervisor will oversee daily operations within our Kiwifruit orchards in Karaka, Auckland, ensuring the highest standards of fruit production and quality. This role is vital for maintaining efficient workflows, supervising staff, and implementing best agricultural practices to enhance productivity and sustainability in our orchards.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily orchard activities, including planting, pruning, and harvesting.
  • Monitor crop health and implement pest and disease management strategies.
  • Train and manage a team of orchard workers, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate labour and activity records.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement operational plans.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification in horticulture, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within the horticultural sector.
  • Strong knowledge of orchard management practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
