Fabricator/Welder

TMC Trailers is one of NZ’s largest heavy transport manufacturers, specialising in manufacturing, repairing, and servicing truck trailers from workshops in Auckland, Hamilton, and Christchurch.

We have been in operation since 1948, employ more than 80 staff across New Zealand and are family-owned and operated.

The Role

We have full-time permanent Fabricator/Welder opportunities at our Hamilton Service Centre. Carrying out multiple repairs, including studying drawings and specifications to determine job requirements, all body, chassis, and undercarriage repairs, LT400 certified repairs, skid plate & drawbar replacements, trailer and truck body refurbishments, trailer servicing, COF repairs, and trailer finishing.

A busy and rewarding role where multi-tasking is essential. You will be calm, professional, and highly organised, with an excellent eye for detail and the ability to work independently and follow instructions.

The work hours are from 6.45 am – 3.00 pm (paid to 3.15 pm) Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week minimum with extra hours available.

To be successful, you will:

Have a minimum of 5 years of fabrication experience.

Have relevant engineering experience.

Be capable of carrying out a wide range of engineering repairs maintaining the highest standards.

Be able to read and interpret technical drawings.

Be hard-working and reliable.

Have a broad knowledge of heavy trailer repairs.
