Sheetmetal Fabricator / Machine Operator

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Sheetmetal Fabricator / Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Christchurch, Canterbury. This permanent, full-time role is essential for producing high-quality sheet metal components that meet our clients’ specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal fabrication and machine operation, contributing to our commitment to excellence in production.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate various sheet metal fabrication machines, including laser cutters, press brakes, and shears.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
• Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain and troubleshoot machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a sheet metal fabricator or machine operator, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with operating and maintaining fabrication machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Relevant qualifications in engineering or manufacturing are advantageous.
