TelcoSpec | Building New Zealand’s Critical Telecommunications Infrastructure
At TelcoSpec, we design, manage, and deliver telecommunications infrastructure projects throughout New Zealand. From fibre network construction and upgrades to complex network delivery programmes, we help connect communities, businesses, and future technologies.
We’re a proudly New Zealand-owned business with a reputation for getting the job done. Our success comes from combining experienced people, innovative systems, and a culture built on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
As our workload continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Project Manager who thrives on ownership, enjoys building strong relationships, and takes pride in delivering successful outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
The Role
This is a hands-on project management role where you’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering telecommunications projects from initiation through to completion.
You’ll work closely with clients, contractors, designers, field teams, finance, and compliance functions to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
No two days are the same. One day you may be reviewing project financials and client deliverables, the next you’ll be coordinating resources, managing stakeholder expectations, or identifying opportunities to improve project performance.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining the high standards TelcoSpec is known for while helping drive the next stage of our growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage telecommunications projects through the full project lifecycle
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and forecasts

- Manage procurement activities and resource planning
- Track project financial performance, including budgets, variations, invoicing, and profitability
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery processes
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence

You don’t need to tick every box, but you’ll ideally bring:
- Proven experience managing projects in telecommunications, utilities, civil construction, infrastructure, or related industries
- Strong commercial and financial awareness
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with contractors, suppliers, and clients
- A proactive approach to problem solving and decision making
