Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join TEG Projects and work with some of New Zealand’s leading food and beverage manufacturers. You will become part of a highly experienced and supportive project delivery team, providing comprehensive project management and engineering services to a portfolio of blue-chip clients.

TEG has long-standing relationships with many of New Zealand’s largest food and beverage companies, with specialist expertise in project management and machine safety.

This role is ideally suited to an engineer with a background in food manufacturing, process engineering and experience in plant installation projects. We are seeking someone with a strong understanding of project management throughout the full project lifecycle, from project definition and feasibility studies through to detailed design, installation, and commissioning. This includes knowledge of estimating, planning, cost reporting, and change management.

You will work in a dynamic production environment, gaining exposure to a wide range of manufacturing processes, equipment, and projects. Success in this role requires strong teamwork, proactive communication, and the ability to provide effective leadership across multiple stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Act as the primary day-to-day liaison with clients across multiple projects.
  • Manage project cost, schedule, and performance outcomes.
  • Be one of the process engineering specialists within the TEG team, providing guidance and support to other team members.
  • Coordinate and manage contractors and suppliers to meet project priorities and timelines.
  • Facilitate the involvement of client operations, maintenance, and technical personnel throughout project development and execution.
  • Monitor the technical quality and completeness of engineering deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain project management documentation and deliverables.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Engineering.
  • Have at least five years of post-graduate experience within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Have process engineering experience, including competence in performing system calculations, developing P&ID’s, PFDs, equipment lists, and understanding energy balances.
  • Have experience delivering brownfield projects in complex processing plants.
  • Be familiar with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Have strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Have experience preparing cost estimates and capital expenditure requests.
