Ngāti Kuia is seeking a passionate and driven Education & Employment Pathways Coordinator to help unlock opportunities for our whānau through education, training, employment, and entrepreneurship.

You’ll lead the development of meaningful pathways that connect whānau with:

• Secondary and tertiary education opportunities
• Apprenticeships and vocational training
• Kaupapa Māori and iwi-led learning programmes
• Employment, internships, cadetships, and business opportunities

Working alongside whānau, education providers, employers, and community partners, you’ll help remove barriers, open doors, and support people to achieve their aspirations.

Key Areas of Impact

• Design education-to-employment pathways with whānau
• Build strong partnerships with employers, training providers, and government agencies
• Coordinate workshops and wānanga focused on mentoring, cultural capability and skills development
• Support workforce development aligned with whānau aspirations and opportunities
• Track outcomes, report impacts, and contribute to strategic planning

You may come from education, workforce development, community engagement, or employment services and will bring:

• Experience supporting people into education, training, or employment
• Strong relationship-building and partnership skills
• Understanding of kaupapa Māori approaches and whānau-centred practice
• Ability to facilitate workshops and support programmes
• Knowledge of Ngāti Kuia or an iwi environment

Bonus Points For

• Excellent organisation, administration, and reporting skills
• Experience managing funded programmes or contracts
• Te reo Māori capability

We are the descendants of Māui, Kupe, and Matuahautere. Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Kuia is the Post Settlement Governance Entity (PSGE) for Ngāti Kuia, working to advance the aspirations of our iwi by strengthening whānau wellbeing, supporting our marae and communities, protecting and restoring our taiao, and ensuring the intergenerational prosperity of our people.
