About our role

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our kitchen! The restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as room service when required. The Commis Chef will assist the Head Chef in all areas of the kitchen operations including the preparation and service of menus for each dining period. 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with the preparation and service of guest menus for each dining period to ensure the highest standard in all areas of kitchen operations
  • Cooking for high end guests, requiring flexibility with menus and attention to guest’s special dietary needs, allergies, preferences and requests
  • Efficiently prepare for dining periods so that appropriate quantities are cooked
  • Monitoring inventory and ordering as per the requirements of the restaurant
  • Ensure all areas satisfy the most stringent food, hygiene, health and safety and statutory requirements, including any food storage, preparation and service areas 

About you

You will be an experienced Commis Chef and bring enthusiasm and energy to this exciting new role! Teamwork will be second nature to you and allow you to work collaboratively to deliver exceptional service. Other attributes that would contribute to your success would include:

  • One – two years’ experience working as a professional chef; or a strong qualification from a culinary school
  • Work experience in a reputable kitchen is desirable
  • Certificate in basic food hygiene or similar work experience
  • Confidence in managing multiple sections in a busy a la carte kitchen with emphasis on consistency and creativity
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required including nights, weekends, and holidays
