At Tamariki Tū Tamariki Ora (TTTO), we believe every tamaiti deserves to grow up safe, connected, supported and thriving.

We’re looking for three experienced, registered Social Workers to join Te Haumirimiri Ngākau Mokopuna, our Intensive Intervention team, based in Kirikiriroa.

These opportunities are for confident, capable practitioners who bring proven sector experience, sound professional judgement and a genuine passion for working alongside tamariki and whānau experiencing complex challenges.

In return, we offer a competitive salary, a comprehensive wellbeing and professional support package, and the opportunity to be part of an organisation committed to doing things differently.

Ko Wai Mātou | Who We Are

Tamariki Tū Tamariki Ora is the service delivery identity of Kirikiriroa Family Services Trust, building on more than 25 years of supporting tamariki, whānau and communities.

We are a kaupapa Māori organisation committed to strengthening whānau, protecting tamariki and creating meaningful, sustainable change.

Our approach recognises that lasting outcomes are achieved through strong relationships, cultural connection, collective responsibility and practice that places tamariki and whānau at its centre.

Our mahi is grounded in our organisational values:

Āta | Deliberation We act with intention, care and respect, taking the time to make thoughtful decisions and build meaningful relationships.

Ākina | Commitment We are courageous, accountable and unwavering in our commitment to tamariki, whānau and the mahi we undertake.

Āngitū | Excellence We strive for excellence in everything we do, continually strengthening our practice to achieve the best possible outcomes.

These values guide not only how we support tamariki and whānau, but how we work together, develop our kaimahi and uphold the integrity of our practice.

Te Haumirimiri Ngākau Mokopuna | About Our Service

Te Haumirimiri Ngākau Mokopuna is a collaborative kaupapa Māori approach focused on supporting tamariki and whānau where there is a risk of tamariki entering state care.

The mahi is intensive and relationship-based, requiring our Mātanga Tamariki to work closely with tamariki, whānau and partner agencies to strengthen safety, stability and whānau capability.

Our approach is grounded in the belief that whānau have strengths, aspirations and the capacity to create lasting change when provided with the right support, relationships and opportunities.

This is purposeful, challenging and rewarding mahi, where skilled practitioners play a vital role in supporting whānau to build safer, stronger and more sustainable futures for their tamariki.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As a Social Worker (Mātanga Tamariki) within Te Haumirimiri Ngākau Mokopuna, you’ll work directly with tamariki and whānau experiencing complex and often high-risk circumstances.

You’ll manage an active caseload, provide intensive intervention and work collaboratively with whānau and partner agencies to achieve meaningful outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building trusting, professional relationships with tamariki, whānau and their wider support networks.
  • Undertaking comprehensive assessments to identify safety concerns, risks, strengths and whānau needs.
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring individualised safety and intervention plans.
  • Providing intensive, practical and therapeutic-informed support to strengthen whānau capability and stability.
  • Working alongside tamariki to understand their experiences, needs and aspirations, ensuring their voices inform decision-making.
  • Collaborating with Oranga Tamariki, community providers and other agencies to coordinate effective interventions.
  • Managing complex cases, maintaining accurate documentation and exercising sound professional judgement.
  • Supporting whānau to achieve sustainable change that reduces the likelihood of tamariki entering state care.

You’ll be supported by experienced leadership, professional supervision and a team that values collaboration, accountability and culturally grounded practice.
