Description
Help tāngata remain well and independent in their own homes.
Join our Mobile Medication Service and provide reliable medication delivery, wellness checks and meaningful daily contact for tāngata living in the Christchurch community.
Mō te Tūranga | About the role
Our Mobile Medication Service supports adults to live as independently as possible in their own homes. The team provides scheduled medication deliveries across Christchurch, along with brief wellness checks and monitoring.
As an MMS Worker, you will build positive professional relationships with tāngata, observe and report any wellbeing concerns, and communicate with the MMS Coordinator, case managers and other health professionals when follow-up may be required.
This is a mobile, community-based role. You will spend much of your shift travelling between scheduled visits using an SST vehicle.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver medication to tāngata in their homes according to agreed schedules and processes.
- Provide brief wellness checks and monitor the general wellbeing of tāngata.
- Build respectful, professional relationships that support recovery, dignity and independence.
- Recognise and report changes or concerns relating to a person’s health, wellbeing or safety.
- Maintain clear, accurate and timely records.
- Liaise with the MMS Coordinator, case managers and other health professionals as required.
- Respond appropriately when a person appears unwell or there are concerns about their safety.
- Drive safely and responsibly while completing scheduled community visits.
Mōu | About you
We are looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable and comfortable working independently in the community. You will be able to engage respectfully with people who have a range of needs while maintaining professional boundaries and following established medication-delivery and reporting processes.
Because tāngata rely on this service, reliability, sound judgement and clear communication are particularly important.
You will bring:
- A genuine interest in supporting tāngata experiencing mental health challenges.
- A calm, caring and respectful approach.
- The ability to build professional relationships with tāngata, whānau and health professionals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The confidence to recognise concerns and seek guidance or escalate them appropriately.
- The ability to work independently while remaining connected to and supported by the wider team.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to complete accurate records.
- Confidence using email and other everyday digital systems.
- A full, clean New Zealand driver licence.
- A commitment to SST’s bicultural journey and upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- A relevant Level 4 qualification in Health and Wellbeing, or a commitment to begin the relevant study within three months of joining SST and complete the required minimum qualification within two years.
It would be an advantage if you have:
- Previous experience in mental health, disability, community support or another health-related service.
- Experience working in a mobile or community-based role.
- Knowledge of recovery-focused and person-centred practice.
Tā mātou mahi | We offer

Our team is passionate about the service we provide, committed to the work we do and supportive of each other. You will join a friendly work environment where your contribution can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
We will provide:
