ENROLLED NURSE | Residential Community Support

Ready to make a genuine impact in a clinically supported residential setting?

We are establishing a new Residential Community Support service within our Adult Supported Accommodation programme. This service provides clinically supported accommodation for tāngata whaiora who require structured, recovery-focused support as they move from hospital-based care toward greater independence in the community.

As this is a new service, we are recruiting for multiple Enrolled Nurse positions across a 24/7 roster, including weekday and weekend shifts across days, evenings, and nights.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a new service and work alongside an experienced Registered Nurse and multidisciplinary team, supporting people through an important stage of their recovery journey.

Mō Te Tūranga | About The role

In this rewarding role, you will provide recovery-focused nursing care that helps bridge the transition between hospital settings and community living. You will play a key part in fostering a therapeutic residential environment that promotes independence, safety, stability, and successful reintegration.

Working in partnership with the Registered Nurse and Team Leader, you will contribute to clinical assessment, care planning, and oversight of day-to-day health needs within the residence.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide recovery-focused nursing support in a residential mental health service
  • Contribute to clinical assessment and support planning
  • Monitor physical and mental health and report changes promptly
  • Safely administer medications, including blood glucose monitoring and insulin management
  • Oversee medication systems and model best practice infection control
  • Support and guide Support Workers in clinical matters
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using SST systems
  • Liaise with external providers and agencies as required
  • Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and collaborative care

We’re looking for a resilient and compassionate Enrolled Nurse who is confident working in mental health settings and committed to high-quality, person-centred care.

You understand the importance of structured support during periods of transition and are comfortable working in a residential environment where consistency, clear boundaries, and clinical judgement matter.

Must Have:

  • Current New Zealand Enrolled Nurse registration
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
  • Confidence in medication administration, including diabetes care
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A full driver’s licence

Important: Legal right to work in Aotearoa New Zealand

Desirable:

  • Experience in mental health
  • Experience in residential or supported accommodation services
  • Knowledge of recovery-focused practice
  • Experience providing clinical guidance to non-clinical staff
