About the role

Are you an experienced payroll professional who enjoys combining payroll expertise with people-focused HR support? 

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll & HR Administrator to join our People & Capability team. In this pivotal role, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing while providing high-quality HR administration support that helps create a great employee experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing wages and salaried payrolls accurately and on time
  • Ensuring payroll compliance, including PAYE, KiwiSaver, leave entitlements, and other statutory requirements
  • Maintaining employee records, HR systems, and people data
  • Producing payroll and HR reports to support leaders and decision-making
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of payroll and HR processes
  • Processing new starters, employee changes, and final pays
  • Responding to payroll and employee benefit enquiries
  • Supporting some HR administration, onboarding, and employee lifecycle documentation

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll in a New Zealand environment
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience in HR administration and supporting employee-related processes
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A customer-focused approach and excellent communication skills
