Located in the Bay of Plenty region, we are looking for a hands on Central North Island (CNI) Operations Manager to own the day-to-day delivery of our CNI operation. Working alongside the field team, you’ll plan and resource jobs, coordinate people and equipment, keep clients informed, while maintaining strong health and safety standards.

What you’ll be doing

  • · Own the CNI work programme by scheduling crews, equipment, materials, travel and site access.
  • · Lead from the field by working alongside the crew and operate hydroseeding equipment when required.
  • · Set the standard by driving safety, quality, productivity, teamwork and care of equipment.
  • · Keep jobs on track and ensure records, timesheets, photos, material use and variations are accurate and invoice ready.
  • · Be the client contact and provide proactive updates and resolve day-to-day delivery issues.
  • · Improve performance by minimising downtime and rework, apply commercial judgement and escalate significant risks.

Qualifications & Experience

  • · Proven field experience in hydroseeding, erosion control, landscaping, civil, environmental or forestry contracting.
  • · Hands-on leadership skills with the ability to organise people, equipment and multiple jobs in a changing environment.
  • · Strong communication and problem-solving, with reliable follow-through and a practical, calm approach.
  • · Sound health and safety knowledge and confidence leading compliance in the field.
  • · A full New Zealand driver licence and confidence around trucks, trailers, pumps and contracting equipment.
  • · Flexibility to travel and work around weather, project schedules and occasional weekend or overnight requirements.
  • · Desirable but not essential – Class 2 or 4 licences, WTR endorsements and strong commercial awareness.
