Smart Environmental is on the lookout for a Permanent Full-Time  Driver to join our supportive team in Tasman.

Smart Environmental Limited works on behalf of local councils, businesses, and communities across New Zealand. Recently acquired by Blue Planet our mission is to divert waste from landfill, and with a large fleet of collection vehicles and line haul operations, we are committed to driving sustainability for the communities and businesses we serve.

About the Role:

Contract Type: Permanent Full Time   

Days and Hours: Five days per week, minimum 40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities:

• Logging information on Eroad/Logbook
• Trained to safely operate one of our range of vehicles
• Keep fit while you work – you may be required to get in and out of the truck and lift up to 20kgs.
• Complete daily pre-start and post-start vehicle inspections and report any maintenance requirements.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and environmental standards.
• Maintain a high level of awareness around public safety, traffic management, and hazard identification while operating in residential and commercial areas.

Skills and experience:

• Holds a NZ Class 4 driver’s licence or equivalent.
• Minium 2 year’s experience operating class 4 vehicles
• LEV experience is desirable but don’t worry training will be provided
• Wheels Tracks and Rollers are advantageous
• Class 5 and Forklift Endorsement is advantageous
• Able to work flexible hours
• Confident with technology as you will be required to use a phone
