FundTap
Nelson Central, New Zealand
Full-time | Primarily office-based, with hybrid flexibility and some travel | 6-month contract, with the aim of going permanent | Flexible start from November | $55,000–$70,000 + KiwiSaver, depending on experience
Build the go-to voice in small business finance
FundTap has just been awarded the fastest growing technology business across Christchurch and the upper South Island in the Deloitte Fast 50 and have grown by over 1,900% in the last 5 years. We help small businesses across New Zealand and Australia solve cashflow timing gaps.
From our Nelson headquarters, we’re building smarter, faster ways for businesses to access funding when they need it.
We’re looking for a Social Media & Content Lead to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone with a big personality who loves creating content, has grown a following before, and wants to build something from the ground up. You’ll own FundTap’s presence on social media, with one goal: to make FundTap the go-to voice in small business finance across New Zealand and Australia, and to get more and more people seeing FundTap every month.
Important location requirement
This role is based in Nelson, New Zealand.
The role is primarily office-based, with hybrid flexibility. You’ll be doing a lot of filming in and around our Nelson office, and there may be some travel to film with customers, partners and events.
We are only considering applicants who are currently based in Nelson or are able to work in Nelson on an ongoing basis.
The role
You’ll work closely with our marketing and growth team, and with people across the business, to turn what we know about small business finance into content that people want to watch.
A big part of the role is building awareness of FundTap at the top of the funnel: getting more people seeing FundTap every month, not just the customers who are already looking for funding. You’ll do this through short-form video with a clear strategy behind it, rather than one-off posts.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Building and running FundTap’s social media strategy across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn
- Growing FundTap’s reach and brand awareness month on month, so more small business owners, accountants, bookkeepers and brokers know who we are
- Planning, shooting, editing and posting short-form video and social content
- Appearing on camera yourself where it works, and getting the team and customers on camera too
- Filming in the office and on location, including some travel to customers, partners and events
- Turning customer stories, case studies and the team’s knowledge into engaging content
- Keeping a consistent content calendar and posting schedule
- Growing and engaging our audience, including replying to comments and messages
- Passing leads and customer questions on to the right people
- Tracking performance, reporting on what’s working, and doing more of it
- Working with the marketing team so paid and organic social support each other
- Keeping up with trends, formats and platform changes
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is confident on camera, creative, and able to think strategically about building an audience.
You don’t need previous finance experience, but you do need to be curious about small business and keen to understand the people we help.
You’ll likely bring:
- A proven track record of building a social media following, either your own or for a brand or business
- Confidence on camera and a personality that comes through on screen
- Strong short-form video skills, including shooting and editing
- A strategic approach: you understand why content works, not just that it did
- Good understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organisation, and the ability to keep a regular posting schedule
- A proactive approach and a willingness to take ownership
- A positive, practical and team-focused attitude
- An interest in learning about small business finance and fintech
Experience with marketing, communications, paid social, or content for business audiences would be useful, but is not essential.
What success looks like
You’ll help make sure:
- FundTap has a clear, consistent presence across our social channels
- More and more people see FundTap every month, and our reach and awareness grow month on month
- Our audience of small business owners, accountants, bookkeepers and brokers is growing
- Our content is useful and engaging, and people want to share it
- We know what’s working and keep doing more of it
- Social media becomes a real source of awareness and leads for the business
- FundTap is recognised as the go-to voice in small business finance across New Zealand and Australia
What we offer
- A full-time role, primarily office-based, with hybrid flexibility and some travel
- A 6-month contract to start, with the aim of a long-term, permanent role
- A flexible start date from November
- The chance to build FundTap’s social presence from the ground up, your way
- Training and support from our team
- $55,000–$70,000 + KiwiSaver, depending on experience, with pay reviews built in so you can step up quickly as you prove yourself
- A supportive, close-knit team
- The opportunity to learn about fintech and small business finance
- The chance to be part of a successful Nelson-grown company making a real difference for small businesses
