The opportunity

We’re looking for a reliable, practical person to join our manufacturing team in Hastings, with a primary focus on chair fit-up and assembly.

In this role, you’ll be helping make our iconic Bodyfurn® Chair, world famous in New Zealand and found in classrooms around the globe. It’s a product we’re proud to make right here in Hastings, and you’ll play a hands-on part in bringing it to life.

What you’ll be doing

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Fitting and assembling chair components
• Working with hand tools and production equipment
• Following established processes to ensure products are assembled correctly and consistently
• Checking the quality of your work
• Working alongside the wider Steel Team to keep production moving

About you

We’re interested in finding someone who:

• Is reliable and turns up ready to work
• Enjoys practical, hands-on work
• Is comfortable with repetitive production work and takes pride in doing it well
• Has good attention to detail
• Can work at a steady pace while maintaining quality
• Works well as part of a team
• Understands the importance of working safely

Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, engineering or a similar hands-on environment would be useful, but isn’t essential for the right person.
