Summary:

The Field Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing agricultural operations in Kekerengu, Marlborough. This permanent, full-time position is essential for ensuring the efficient management of field activities, promoting best practices in agriculture, and maintaining high standards of productivity and safety. The Field Supervisor will work closely with the team to implement strategies that enhance crop yield and sustainability, contributing to the overall success of our agricultural initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily field operations, ensuring adherence to agricultural best practices.
  • Coordinate and manage the activities of field workers, providing guidance and support.
  • Monitor crop health and growth, implementing necessary interventions to optimise yield.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning.
  • Maintain accurate records of field activities, including planting, harvesting, and maintenance.
  • Assist in the training and development of staff on agricultural techniques and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies for improving productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all field operations.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within the agriculture sector.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural practices and crop management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Proficient in using agricultural machinery and technology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
