Manager – Accounting & Advisory

Are you an experienced Senior Accountant or Manager ready for a varied role that combines commercial, agribusiness, and advisory work? +MORE Taranaki are looking for someone who enjoys working closely with business owners across a range of industries, providing practical advice and helping clients make confident, informed decisions.

What’s the role?

You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of clients, including commercial businesses and agribusiness/rural enterprises, delivering a mix of compliance and advisory services. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll help clients understand their numbers, plan ahead, and improve business performance. You’ll also play an important role in mentoring junior team members and contributing to the ongoing development of the team and how we work.

What you’ll be doing

• Deliver high-quality accounting, tax compliance, and advisory services
• Build strong, trusted relationships with a portfolio of commercial and agribusiness clients
• Review work prepared by junior accountants and provide coaching and guidance
• Support clients with budgeting, cashflow forecasting, and strategic planning
• Provide practical advice tailored to both business and rural/agri environments
• Identify opportunities to add value through advisory insights and proactive advice
• Contribute to workflow planning, process improvements, and use of technology
• Be a positive leader who supports a collaborative and engaging team culture

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in public practice accounting (ideally 5+ years)
• Experience working with agribusiness/rural clients alongside commercial businesses
• CA qualified (or working towards)
• Confident communicator who builds strong client relationships
• Comfortable with cloud-based tools such as Xero and related accounting software
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with an interest in advisory work
• Someone who values teamwork, balance, and continuous improvement
