We are looking for someone who brings general practice nursing experience to support our practices to integrate clinical processes, nursing workflows and interdisciplinary ways of working into everyday service delivery and practice business models.

Te āhua o te mahi | What you will be doing
As Nurse Facilitator, you will work as part of the Practice Enablement Team, in partnership with Pegasus colleagues and general practices. This is not a patient-facing role; instead, you will provide specialist clinical partnership and practical support to help practices identify opportunities, solve operational challenges and implement sustainable, high-quality models of care.
- Working with both clinicians and business stakeholders in general practices.
- Building and maintaining trusted relationships with general practices, understanding their models of care, workforce utilisation, business context, operational pressures, and priorities.
- Have commitment to improving Māori health outcomes and achieving health equity for Māori through our Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and address current issues in relation to health and health equity.
- Work directly with practices to implement and embed improved models of care and clinical governance, including clinical triage, infection prevention and control, standing orders, interdisciplinary teamwork, nurse-led initiatives and continuous quality improvement.
- Use data and insights to identify gaps in care, variation in outcomes and opportunities for improvement, then translate these into practical actions with practice teams.
This role works closely with general practice owners, managers, nurses and clinical governance teams, internal Pegasus teams, Health New Zealand, sector stakeholders and community-based providers across Waitaha Canterbury. The role is 0.7-1.0 FTE, with flexibility to discuss what this might look like with the successful applicant.
Ngā pūkenga motuhake | What you will bring
Strong primary care nursing experience, a practical improvement mindset, and the relationship skills needed to influence change in busy general practice settings. You will be confident working across clinical, operational and workforce conversations, supporting practice teams to strengthen clinical governance, nursing contribution, patient flow, access, quality and sustainable models of care.
- NZ Registered Nurse with a current annual practising certificate.
- Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification (or working towards one), or equivalent experience, ideally with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- A demonstrated commitment to equity, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, culturally safe practice and improving outcomes for priority populations.
- Recent experience working within general practice.
- Experience in education, facilitation, coaching, workforce development, or implementation of change.
