Nightshift Production Operator
More than just a Production Operator role
Pack Tech Moulding Ltd (PTM) is a New Zealand-owned manufacturer of rigid plastic packaging for food, FMCG, industrial and big-box retail brand owners.
At our modern Rolleston facility, we use injection and blow moulding technology alongside robotics, camera quality systems, automated testing and automated packing equipment.
We are looking for a motivated and capable Nightshift Production Operator—but we are looking for more than just someone to fill a role.
We want someone with the attitude, capability and potential to grow into a future 2IC, Team Leader or Machine Setter.
What you’ll be doing
- Operating and monitoring production and automated equipment.
- Completing product inspections and quality checks.
- Packing product for dispatch to customers.
- Identifying and helping solve production issues.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment.
- Working as part of a team to meet production, quality and safety targets.
About you
You don’t need to know everything about plastics manufacturing—we can teach you that. What matters most is that you have the right attitude and are keen to learn.
You will ideally be:
- Mechanically minded and comfortable working with machinery.
- Curious and interested in understanding how things work.
- A practical problem solver.
- Reliable, motivated and willing to learn.
- Quality focused, with good attention to detail.
- A clear communicator with good written and spoken English.
- Someone who wants to develop their skills and take on more responsibility over time.
Manufacturing or production experience would be an advantage, but attitude, aptitude and potential are just as important.
Great shift pattern
Our nightshift roster is based on a 12-day fortnight:
3 days on → 3 days off → 3 days on → 5 days off
One shift works every second Saturday, and the other works every second Sunday, with both shifts receiving every second weekend completely off.
Each shift comprises of 12.5hours in length.
There will also be opportunities to pick up additional shifts when available.
