Who we are:
Oyster is a leading New Zealand commercial property and fund manager and is recognised as a market leader in sourcing and structuring property funds and capital raising. We also manage a range of office, industrial, large-format retail, and retail assets throughout New Zealand. At Oyster we are committed to Building a Brighter Future, and it is this vision that sits at the core of everything we do. Our Values are what guide our culture, our day-to-day interactions with our investors, tenants, contractors, each other and how we deliver on our vision – we are One Team, Leaders, Courageous and Ethical.
Job scope:
We’re looking for a Property Accountant to join our Auckland team on a fixed-term basis from December 2026 to February 2027, covering a period of maternity leave. This is a great opportunity to work alongside our Finance Managers and support the day-to-day finance and accounting operations across Oyster’s diverse portfolio of retail and commercial property funds and schemes.
You’ll bring a solid accounting background, strong attention to detail and a focus on delivering accurate, timely and high-quality work. We’re also looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively and can contribute to our ongoing focus on improving the way we work.
Eligibility criteria:
Ideally you will have 3-4+ years’ accounting experience and while it’s not essential, being CA / CPA qualified, would be advantageous.
You will need to be well-versed dealing with numerous work streams effectively and delivering quality outcomes on time, especially during busy periods. Having worked for either a listed company or a financial institution, you’re no stranger to the reporting requirements and governance that come with the territory. You’re a commercial thinker and may also have property industry experience.
At Oyster, we place strong emphasis on our core competencies, which are the foundation of our high-performing environment. These include critical thinking, adaptability, emotional intelligence, effective communication, impactful collaboration, digital proficiency and strong financial acumen. We actively seek these qualities in our people, as they are essential to driving our success and shaping a high-performing, future-ready team.
