Job Summary:
The Business Analyst is responsible for understanding business needs, facilitating requirements activities and supporting transformation initiatives through structured analysis, stakeholder engagement and clear documentation.
The role focuses on business processes, operational outcomes and solution alignment. It ensures that requirements are understood, traceable and translated into practical changes that deliver value and support successful implementation and adoption.
Responsibilities:
- Own and deliver business analysis outcomes across assigned engagements.
- Lead discovery, workshop facilitation and requirements elicitation, producing clear business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and supporting analysis artefacts.
- Analyse current-state processes, controls and operating practices, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting future-state process and target operating model design.
- Define business rules, process controls, reporting requirements and traceable requirements documentation.
- Build trusted relationships with clients, subject matter experts and delivery teams, communicating requirements, decisions, risks and delivery impacts clearly.
- Facilitate decision-making and issue-resolution discussions, helping stakeholders align on scope, priorities and implementation impacts.
- Identify and manage risks, assumptions, dependencies, constraints, decisions and actions, maintaining appropriate traceability and reporting.
- Support testing, business readiness and implementation activities, including acceptance criteria, test scenarios, UAT support, training inputs and transition materials.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, reusable methods, delivery standards and uplift of the business analysis practice.
- Use approved AI-enabled analysis tools where appropriate to improve productivity, traceability and documentation quality, while applying professional judgement.
Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience in Business Analysis or a comparable delivery role.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across client, business and delivery teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in business, technology, financial services, project delivery or a related discipline is desirable.
- Business Analysis certification such as IIBA, CBAP, CCBA or equivalent is desirable.
- Experience eliciting, analysing and documenting business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and supporting requirements artefacts.
- Strong business process analysis and modelling capability, including current-state and future-state process mapping, workflow analysis and gap analysis.
- Ability to manage requirements traceability from discovery through to delivery, testing, implementation and business readiness.
- Experience Acurity/Sonata/Superb/Nexus/HiPortfolio or relevant Superannuation, wealth or investments software
- Microsoft 365 collaboration and productivity tools.
- Delivery, requirements and traceability management tools, such as Jira, DevOps or equivalent platforms.
- Data manipulation modelling tools – SQL, Excel
- Knowledge management and documentation platforms, such as Confluence or equivalent tools.
- Process mapping, workshop and visual collaboration tools, such as Visio, Draw.io, Miro or equivalent applications.
- Approved AI-enabled analysis and productivity tools, where appropriate (Co-Pilot, Claude).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and written communication capability.
- Ability to work effectively across Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery model.
