Description

Logistics Lead | The Ninja Run

The Ninja Run | Hamilton-based (Nationwide Travel Required)

Fixed-Term Full-Time | Immediate Start through 4 April 2027

We Are Not Just an Event. We Are Here to Help People Come Alive.

At NinjaVerse, we believe movement, play, and connection build confidence, courage, and joy. The Ninja Run is a traveling movement that helps children, families, and communities discover energy and connection through movement. Every family that crosses our finish line creates a memory that stays with them forever.

We are hiring an immediate Fixed-Term Full-Time Logistics Lead to take operational command of our physical event build and pack-out across the remainder of our 2026/2027 national tour (through to 4 April 2027).

As the on-site foreman and practical anchor of our touring footprint, you will take total ownership of our physical site logistics, leading our touring Road Crew and setting the standard for site execution from the ground up.

You Lead the Physical Build

This role is hands-on, high-momentum, and practical. You are not here to stand around with a clipboard or micromanage, you run the floor, set the pace, and master site execution.

You will lead the physical build, maintenance, and pack-down of our massive inflatable obstacle course, direct our young, energetic touring Road Crew, and eliminate operational bottlenecks before they start. You will be the authoritative point person on site who makes practical decisions, directs tasks with clarity, and solves issues using your own initiative.

How You’ll Bring the 6 Es to Life on Tour

  • Experience: Deliver meticulous care in obstacle placement and course aesthetics.
  • Energy: Serve as the functional powerhouse on the ground. Bring an alert, positive, and physically urgent pace to demanding load-in, turnaround, and heavy pack-out shifts.
  • Engagement: Stay switched on to the physical environment. Constantly scan the footprint to spot early fabric stress, ground issues, anchor tension, or weather impacts, resolving them proactively.
  • Encouragement: Command respect while mentoring a young crew. Foster a high-morale, hard-working site culture, giving clear direction and coaching local build volunteers with patience and confidence.
  • Education: Act as the technical master on the floor. Run sharp morning briefings, teach safe rigging and blower management.
  • Enforcement: Champion zero-tolerance for safety shortcuts. Enforce mandatory PPE compliance, proper team-lifting technique, safe generator/blower operations, and strict zone controls with calm, mature discipline.

What the Role Involves

  • Site Build & Pack-In: Translating site layouts into reality; executing precise footprint marking; directing anchor staking, structural line rigging, and commercial blower placement clear of utility corridors.
  • Road Crew Direction: Setting daily tasks, driving build schedules, answering on-site crew questions independently, and ensuring the team works productively without needing constant oversight.
  • Heavy Pack-Out & Asset Care: Smashing out pack down safely and efficiently; enforcing meticulous cleaning and drying standards before rolling; stacking blowers onto specialized stillages; and balancing truck/container pack weights for transit.
  • Site Relations & Practical Problem-Solving: Working with venue caretakers and groundskeepers regarding access gates, power drops, and ground protection, making sensible site layout adjustments when terrain or weather dictates.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You Have:

  • Proven leadership in construction, trades, staging, rigging, festival site builds, or heavy touring logistics.
  • A natural, mature leadership style with the authority to command a crew and get the job done right the first time.
  • High practical initiative, you see what needs doing next and execute without waiting for instructions.
  • High stamina, physical fitness, and comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Full availability for continuous national touring through to 4 April 2027, including living in shared touring accommodation.
  • Full, clean NZ Driver Licence (Forklift endorsement is a major advantage).

Why Join The Ninja Run Tour?

  • Travel New Zealand: See the country on tour with twin-share touring accommodation and approved national travel/transport fully covered.
  • Total Operational Autonomy: Take the reins of your own site, run your crew your way, and make an immediate impact on a high-energy national tour.
  • Purpose-Driven Culture: Work alongside a passionate, values-driven team committed to bringing communities alive through play and movement.
