We are currently seeking a passionate Healthcare Tutor that possess a minimum Level 6 or above teaching experience in New Zealand specifically within Mental Health and Addictions.
This role is pivotal in shaping the future of healthcare professionals and will involve developing course content, ongoing assessment design and teaching.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mental Health and/or Addiction.
The role will be based at our New Lynn campus to start with. This is a permanent role (40 hours) per week. Classes are run during the day and evening online and on-site across Monday to Friday.
Key focus areas
- Planning and delivering courses using effective and engaging teaching methods and materials appropriate to the students and course content and aligned with the NZSE Teaching and Learning Plan
- Design and develop course content and assessments as per NZQA standards
- Ensuring all assessments, including tests are completed as per the requirements of the course including marking, feedback, moderation, reassessment and rescheduling within required timeframe
- Participating in and working on research projects
- Student placements and observations
- Face-to-face and online delivery of classes
Ko koe tēnei | About you
- Previous experience in teaching at a tertiary level within the Mental Health and/or Addiction capacity
- Industry experience working within the Mental Health & Addiction space in New Zealand
- Minimum Leve 6 qualification in Health
- Previous experience developing programmes and courses on the NZQA framework is ideal
- Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Full working rights in New Zealand and a clean full drivers licence
- Possess the NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 or above or willing to work towards one
