That’s the thing we’re looking for. Not a system administrator. Not an IT helpdesk. Someone who genuinely believes there’s a better way, and gets on with finding it.

The role

We’re McIntyre Dick, an Invercargill accounting and advisory firm that’s serious about getting ahead of where the profession is heading. We have the systems and the infrastructure. Now we need the person who takes it all to the next level, and then keeps pushing.

This is a part-time, hands-on role (up to 20 hours a week) for someone who gets energised by spotting where technology can remove friction and free people up to do better work.

You’ll sit alongside our team: the people who know exactly what’s clunky, time-consuming, or frustrating, but don’t always have the knowledge or the bandwidth to figure out what to do about it. That’s where you come in. You listen, you identify the opportunity, and you implement the solution…and you listen some more.

You

• Translate tech into plain English, naturally and without condescension
• Have built real automations in real workplaces, not just played around
• Use AI to genuinely improve how work gets done
• Get things done without needing sign-off at every turn
• Xero or FYI experience is a bonus. The mindset matters more!

What this isn’t

• IT support or helpdesk
• Hardware and infrastructure
• The person everyone emails when something breaks
• A dumping ground for anything tech-adjacent
