About the role

Landpro Limited is seeking Intermediate or Senior Planners to join our dynamic planning team in beautiful Central Otago, either Cromwell or Wanaka. As an Intermediate or Senior Planner, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality planning services to a diverse range of clients across the region. We advise our clients on everything from strategic resource consenting, compliance, land development, due diligence, fresh-water quality/quantity, GIS mapping, along with project management and everything else in-between, we are a truly multi-disciplinary planning team. Our clients span land development sectors, farming and other primary industries, energy and infrastructure and government.

What you’ll be doing

Preparing and processing resource consent applications and other planning documents

Conducting site visits, undertaking research, and preparing comprehensive planning reports

Liaising with clients, council representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery

Providing expert planning advice and guidance to clients on a wide range of planning matters

Staying up-to-date with changes in planning legislation and best practices

Mentoring and supporting more junior members of the planning team

What we’re looking for

Experience within an environmental consultancy business or similar industry, with strong strategic thinking, including issue identification and strong solution-based focus.

Experience supporting diverse multi-stakeholder projects in an advisory or delivery role.

Tertiary qualification in Urban Planning, Resource Management, Environmental Science or a related field

Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as an Intermediate Planner or 5+ years’ experience as a Senior Planner

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience in preparing and processing resource consent applications

Proficiency in the use of planning software and GIS systems

Sound knowledge and experience with District Planning/ Urban RMA Planning, Rural RMA and Farm Environmental Planning, or Energy and Transmission Planning.

For Senior Planner roles – additional experience mentoring colleagues, managing diverse and complex projects, and managing client relationships.
