Relationship Manager

Department: Corporate and Institutional Banking Department

Reports to: Director, Corporate and Institutional Banking

Location: Auckland CBD

Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

1. Develop effective business strategies to enhance the bank’s position in the market;

2. Deliver value-added solutions to serve customers and placing their needs first;

3. Keep up-to-date knowledge that influence local and international business;

4. To pro-actively establish, develop and grow a portfolio of corporate clients while

balance the interests between the customers and the bank;

5. Carry out appropriate financial modelling, credit analysis, prepare credit application and

work together with Credit team within the bounds of prudent banking;

6. Work with other stakeholders e.g. Treasury, Trade Finance to offer appropriate

products to meet with the customers’ comprehensive needs;

7. Communicate and adhere to the bank’ s policies and procedures at all times;

8. Identify potential defaulting accounts, recommend solutions to the Head of Department

to minimise risk and implement remediation plans as required;

9. Maintain customers and transaction information timely and accurately;

10. Participate in internal and external events and functions to grow network and promote

the bank;

11. Be responsible for identifying, managing and mitigating operational risks and

compliance risks in the day-to-day activities. Clearly understand the position within

ICBC’ s Three Lines of Defence model, and ensure all actions consider both financial

and non-financial risks that can arise;

12. Abide by the Bank’ s policies and procedures at all times;

13. Perform other tasks assigned by the department or the Bank.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • University graduate or above;
  • 5+ years’ Commercial or 3+ years’ Corporate banking relationship manager experience at local banks;
  • Excellent track record of delivering business targets, meeting customer needs and improving customer satisfaction;
  • Strategic and analytical thinking, excellent communication, problem solving, interpersonal and presentation skills;
  • Strong knowledge and understanding to China and local markets are preferred;
  • Fluency in both Mandarin and English are preferred;
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal English.
  • Has eligibility to work in New Zealand.
