We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Op Shop Assistant to join our busy, community-minded team in Stanmore Bay. This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 5:15pm (40 hours per week).

As an Op Shop Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, supporting sales activities, managing stock, and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the store. This hands-on role involves sales, merchandising, stock handling, and maintaining an inviting shopping environment for our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Assist customers with product selection and provide knowledgeable advice on merchandise.
• Maintain a clean and organised store environment, ensuring products are well-displayed and stocked.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
• Support inventory management by assisting with stock replenishment and conducting regular stock checks.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and enhance overall store performance.
• Participate in promotional activities and events to drive customer engagement
• Supporting volunteers with day-to-day store tasks and guidance

We’re looking for a customer-focused, reliable, and motivated individual with a strong interest in fashion, brands, and preloved goods. You’ll have a keen eye for detail, enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment, and be comfortable assisting with stock management and physical lifting tasks.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• At least 2-3 years’ retail experience
• Good computer skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• A good level of fitness for moving furniture and stock
• A calm, proactive, and self-motivated approach
• An eye for merchandising and store presentation (preferred)
• A genuine commitment to Habitat’s mission and helping within a charitable organisation
