ABOUT THE ROLE

Groundfix is looking for a practical and reliable Yard Hand to join our civil construction team.

This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operation of our yard and helping ensure our plant, equipment, tools and materials are organised.

We are looking for someone comfortable working around civil construction plant and equipment, who understands the importance of keeping a busy yard safe and organised, and is willing to get stuck in and help wherever required. Must be willing to work outdoors; this is not a desk job.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare plant, tools, equipment and materials for projects
• Load and unload vehicles, trucks and trailers
• Receive, check and store deliveries
• Assist with project mobilisation and demobilisation
• Clean equipment returned from sites
• Identify and report damaged or defective equipment
• Organise and maintain yard, storage and equipment areas, keeping them clean & tidy
• Pick-up and drop-off of plant

• We are looking for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes pride in keeping things organised, clean and tidy.
• You’ll need to be safety focused, dependable and willing to take ownership of your work. Just as importantly, you’ll need to work well with others and be prepared to lend a hand when priorities change.

Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. Applicants must be willing to undergo a Drug & Alcohol pre-employment test and should have a full NZ driver licence.
