We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team. As our Maintenance Assistant, you’ll be the go-to problem solver helping maintain our resort, winery, villas, and outdoor spaces. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll work across villas, public areas, and the wider property jumping between planned preventative maintenance and the day-to-day fixes that keep the operation running smoothly. - Carrying out general repairs and maintenance across buildings (painting, minor plumbing, carpentry, fixtures and fittings)
- Completing regular property inspections, respond to maintenance requests, and keeping clear, accurate records
- Help keeping outdoor areas guest-ready grounds, pathways, and external structures
- Supporting renovations, small construction jobs, and landscaping projects across the property
- Undertaking water testing and assist with the upkeep of potable water, wastewater, and pool infrastructure
- Maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring safe use, correct storage, and stock/repair needs are flagged early
- Liaising with contractors on-site and report issues, hazards, or recurring defects promptly
- Following all Health & Safety procedures and actively contribute to a safe workplace
About you:
- Hands-on, practical, and physically fit with strong problem-solving skills
- Full driver’s licence and ability to drive company vehicles
- Maintenance/construction/landscaping experience (hospitality/resort experience a bonus)
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round and around guests
- Basic computer skills for logging jobs and reporting
- Eligibility of work in New Zealand without any restrictions.
- A reliable method transport since we’re located about 25 mins from Queenstown CBD
