The role
- Full‑time fixed term (filling staff gaps) Approximately 6 months – Potential to become permanent
- Guaranteed 30 hours per week on a rotating roster, including weekends
- $26–$29 per hour (based on skills and experience)
As part of our passionate and supportive FOH team, you’ll deliver warm, attentive service in our restaurant, at exclusive events and across day‑to‑day operations. You’ll guide guests through our food and wine offerings, create an energetic, welcoming atmosphere and ensure every visit is memorable.
Key responsibilities
- Confidently manage a busy section and deliver a seamless guest experience
- Provide genuine, knowledgeable recommendations for both food and wine
- Create a warm, engaging atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression
- Work across breakfast, lunch, dinner and events (rotating roster)
- Maintain consistently high personal presentation and service standards
- Use POS accurately and follow cash/charge procedures
- You may occasionally be required to assist in the on-site Cheesery & Deli as part of the wider FOH team
About you
You’re a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and brings energy, care and connection to every guest interaction. Ideally you have:
- 1–2 years’ Front of House experience in a busy restaurant or quality venue
- Confidence with à la carte service and proactive guest engagement
- A calm, professional approach under pressure and sharp attention to detail
- Strong spoken English and excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with POS systems (preferred)
- Reliable transport to our Gibbston site (no public transport nearby)
- A passion for quality food, wine and creating memorable moments
- Ability to meet legal requirements to serve alcohol in NZ (e.g., LCQ/Duty Manager a plus but not essential)
- Eligibility to work in NZ
