About The Role

In the role of Product Compliance Specialist, you will support the Head of Product Compliance and wider Compliance, Legal and Risk team in ensuring Generate meets its regulatory and licensing obligations across managed investment schemes (MIS) and discretionary investment management services (DIMS).

 

You will provide specialist compliance support across business-as-usual activities, product development initiatives, regulatory obligations, and governance processes. You will work closely with key stakeholders across Product, Distribution, Operations and Risk to support the delivery of compliant products, services and good customer outcomes.

 

You will contribute to ongoing compliance monitoring, regulatory change implementation, policy and process improvements, and the continuous enhancement of Generates compliance framework.

  • Support the business in meeting its MIS, DIMS and Financial Advice Provider (FAP) compliance obligations.
  • Provide practical regulatory and compliance advice to Product, Distribution, Operations and other teams.
  • Help teams understand regulatory requirements through guidance, coaching and training.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring, assurance and thematic reviews across products, digital tools, customer journeys and business processes.
  • Support the management and remediation of compliance incidents, issues and complaints.
  • Provide compliance input into new products, business changes and customer experiences, identifying risks early and helping develop practical solutions.
  • Review and support disclosure documents, advertising, member communications and other public-facing material.
  • Help the business understand and implement regulatory change, including updating policies, procedures, frameworks and obligations.
  • Prepare risk, compliance, governance and regulatory reporting for management, Boards, supervisors and the FMA.
  • Maintain accurate risk, control, incident, issue and compliance records within our systems.
  • Help improve our compliance systems, tools and ways of working, including opportunities to use AI and automation.
  • Build strong relationships across the business and help foster a practical, proactive and collaborative compliance culture.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law or related field
  • 5 – 8 years+ experience in compliance, risk, legal or governance roles within financial services
  • Experience in the financial services industry, preferably within a licensed MIS or DIMS Provider and/or Financial Advice Provider (FAP)
  • Experience supporting compliance monitoring, regulatory change and governance processes
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
