Garage Project is a Wellington-based brewery known for making unique and beautiful beers. We’re a team of fun-loving, dedicated and hardworking crew who aspire to be leaders, never followers, in our industry. We’re looking for a few new faces to join our venues team – we are looking for experienced Duty Managers and venues crew to join out team. Roles are part-time, generally across three or four days a week, working across our different venues in Wellington

What to Expect

Love beer? Love people? This is the heart of what we do, and where the GP magic happens.

• Beer Magic: it’s not just about pouring beers, it’s about telling the story and creating an experience. You’ll serve up brews in unique, memorable ways, bringing the beers to life.
• Customer Whisperer: be the friendly face that keeps customers coming back. Build relationships with regulars, offer tastings, and make sure everyone has a killer time.
• Beer Knowledge Ninja: stay on top of our brews, tasting notes and special releases. Keep your knowledge sharp so you can dazzle the punters.
• Keep it Flowing: supporting the bar and floor so service runs smoothly.
• Pitch In: help prep food, clean up when needed, and always be ready to lend a hand. Teamwork makes the dream work.
• Clean Team: keeping the venue sparkling (there’s a lot of cleaning in hospo, we won’t lie).

Got your DM’s?

We’re after qualified DMs who can lead the venue while on shift and make sure everyone, crew and customers alike, has a great time (responsibly, of course). On top of the above, you’ll be:

• Running the Show (responsibly): leading the venue on shift and keeping us on top of our host responsibility obligations.
• Opening and Closing: running opening and closing, and keeping the venue safe and tidy.
• Supporting our venues leadership team as needed.

For this role, you’ll need a current Duty Manager’s Certificate and LCQ, plus previous Duty Manager experience.

About you

We’re looking for people with previous hospo experience and an interest in beer (or keen to learn).

You’ll also be happy to have a yarn. Craft beer comes with a lot of chat, so you’ll need to be positive, engaging and able to hold your own with customers. You’ll be keen to learn about our beers and share the good stuff.

Across all roles, you’ll be happy to work shifts on a roster and you’ll be comfortable in a busy, hands-on environment. What we care about most is that you’re reliable, enthusiastic and keen to be part of a great team.
