Role Type
Description
Garage Project is a Wellington-based brewery known for making unique and beautiful beers. We’re a team of fun-loving, dedicated and hardworking crew who aspire to be leaders, never followers, in our industry. We’ve grown from humble beginnings to a team of 65+ across NZ and Australia — and we’ve got some exciting adventures ahead.
We’re currently looking for a couple people to join our production team. These are different roles with different vibes, so read on and see which one sounds like you.
Brewer: Based at our Te Aro production site
Our brewers take an active role in all aspects of production and packaging — working as part of a dynamic team following best practice in the production of exceptional beer. The role covers cellar work, safe handling of product, all aspects of brewing to recipe, and supporting the wider production process including packaging when needed.
Production Assistant: Wild Workshop based in central Wellington
Our Wild Workshop is home to old-world style, spontaneous and wild-fermented beers. We are looking for a passionate production assistant to join our small team, helping out across the production area, including:
- Take part in all aspects of keg cleaning and filling, ensuring kegs are clean, lines are sterilised, kegs are accurately filled and accurate records are made
- Packing bottles and cans, assisting with packing down, cleaning machines and the pack hall.
- Be involved with the fermentation and cellaring process of beers, maintaining daily monitoring of product, transferring of beers in tank, tank cleaning.
About you
For both roles we’re open to hearing from people at all stages – whether you’re working in packaging or as a cellar hand and looking to grow, you’re an experienced brewer ready for a new challenge, or you’re somewhere in between. What we care about most is that you’re reliable, enthusiastic and keen to be part of a great team.
Across both roles you’ll need strength and stamina (both are physically demanding), good attention to detail and the ability to keep accurate records. A forklift licence is preferred but not essential.
We’re big believers in inclusive, accessible workplaces, so this ad is a guide, not a checklist. If you feel one of these roles could be a great fit, we’d love to hear from you.
Why Garage Project?
At GP, we work hard, play hard, and we love what we do. Our vibe is fast-paced, creative, and a little bit chaotic (in the best way). You’ll get great perks including beers and merch, plus ongoing training to level up your skills. We value contribution across all roles and invite everyone to bring their whole selves to work. We’re a Living Wage employer, Pride Pledge participants and a Net Zero Carbon organisation.
To apply
Tell us which role you’re applying for, and send us your CV and a cover letter letting us know why you’d be a great fit. Applications close as soon as we find the right people — so don’t sit on it!
