Future Skills is a well-established, highly rated Category 1 Private Training Establishment with campuses across Auckland. As one of the leading providers of vocational education, we deliver industry-relevant programmes that prepare learners for meaningful careers in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We currently offer the NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Investments) programme and will soon be offering the NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Residential Property Lending) programme.
We are seeking expressions of interest from either experienced lecturers or industry professionals looking to step into tertiary teaching, to deliver these programmes.
About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
As a lecturer, you will provide engaging, applied Financial Services education that supports learners to build strong technical foundations, soft skills and career progression in this industry.
You will help learners understand real-world concepts, support them through assessments, and contribute to programme development, pastoral care, and continuous quality improvement.
We offer multiple delivery options including evenings, weekends, block courses, part-time and full-time, allowing you to balance teaching alongside working in the industry, if desired.
This role is ideal for someone with relevant industry background, who will thrive in an educational setting, enjoys mentoring emerging professionals and has a strong commitment to learner success.
Professionals currently working in industry and seeking part-time or contract teaching are strongly encouraged to apply.
Skills and Experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A relevant New Zealand qualification at, or above, level 5 on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF) or possess current equivalent knowledge, skills and experience to teach and assess against the specific strand.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience of working in a multi-cultural environment.
- A keen interest in learner achievement, mentoring, and applied skills development.
Ideally, you will also bring:
- Previous tutoring or tertiary teaching experience.
- A tertiary teaching qualification (e.g. NZ Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching) or willingness to undertake one.
- Unit Standard 11551 Use Standards to Assess Candidate Performance; Unit Standard 4098 Moderate Assessment or willingness to complete these standards.
- An ability to work with new technologies including Moodle and Microsoft.
