Senior Cloud and Platform Engineer

At Fusion Networks, we’re looking for a Senior Cloud & Platform Engineer to play a key role in shaping both our internal technology platforms and the cloud solutions we deliver to customers. About the Role

This is a role with real scope, variety, and influence.

You’ll be responsible for evolving Fusion’s internal compute, storage, and virtualisation platforms while partnering directly with customers to design and deliver cloud solutions tailored to their needs. You’ll combine deep technical expertise with customer engagement, helping organisations get the most from their technology investments.

As one of our senior technical experts, you’ll also act as an L3/L4 escalation point, mentor and support fellow engineers, and contribute to the ongoing growth of our technology services and product offerings.

Reporting to the Operations Engineering Manager, you’ll work closely with our Technical Support Centre, Operations Engineering team, Project Managers, and wider Technology teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll:

• Lead the design and delivery of major internal infrastructure projects that strengthen our platforms and reduce technical debt.
• Partner with our sales team to understand customer goals and design cloud solutions that meet their business needs.
• Present and articulate technical solutions confidently to customers and stakeholders.
• Lead the implementation of cloud solutions alongside our project and delivery teams.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with customers as their key technical advisor during pre-sales and implementation.
• Act as a senior technical escalation point and support the development of other engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure all environments and solutions align with cyber security standards and industry best practice.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules, automations, scripts, SOPs, and technical documentation.
• Stay curious, explore emerging technologies, and contribute innovative ideas that help shape Fusion’s future services.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys balancing deep technical work with meaningful customer interactions.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Proven experience designing and implementing complex cloud solutions for customers.
• Strong technical expertise across modern cloud platforms, ideally including technologies such as Azure, AWS, VMware, or similar.
• A solid understanding of cyber security principles and best practices.
• Experience working across multiple teams and influencing stakeholders to achieve great outcomes.
• The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
