Assistant Site Manager – Upper Hutt

About the Role
Reporting to the Site Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the site. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines operational management with regular in-pool teaching, allowing you to lead by example while supporting both staff and customers.
Please note: As this is an operational leadership role, applicants must be available to work Saturdays on an ongoing basis and be comfortable working regular in-pool teaching shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily site operations including scheduling, rostering, and customer service
- Step into the Site Manager role during absences
- Assist with class occupancy targets, enrolment forecasting, and staff planning
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members
- Provide daily support and feedback to staff and contribute to performance reviews
- Act as a key point of contact for customer enquiries and poolside concerns
- Maintain accurate iClass notes and clear customer communication
- Assist with timesheet approvals, documentation, and site reporting
- Complete pool safety checks and ensure Safe365 compliance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility
- Support class scheduling adjustments and promotion of underperforming sessions
- Submit promotional content to the Support Office
- Engage with the local community and represent Fulton Swim School at events
About You
- Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
- A proactive approach and commitment to continuous improvement
- Familiarity with iClass, Safe365, or swim school operations (preferred but not essential)
- Availability to work a regular Saturday shift as part of your permanent roster
- A willingness to lead from the front by combining leadership responsibilities with regular in-pool teaching
