The Opportunity

As Event Operations Manager, you’ll lead a talented team of event professionals and oversee the seamless planning and execution of a diverse portfolio of events. This is a dynamic leadership role where every day brings new challenges and opportunities. You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on operational delivery, ensuring every event is safe, seamless and exceptional.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing event operations team
  • Overseeing the planning and delivery of events ranging from small functions to major, complex, and high risk events
  • Ensuring compliance with all operational, safety and regulatory requirements
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, promoters, contractors, suppliers and key stakeholders
  • Managing event budgets, operational systems (Momentus) and event documentation
  • Championing a culture of Safety & Wellness, operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Working closely with ticketing providers and understanding the integration of ticketing systems into event planning and delivery
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance the customer, client and patron experiences

About You

You’ll be an experienced event professional or project manager with a track record of successfully delivering complex events or projects and leading teams in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll bring:

  • 8+ years’ experience in event or project management
  • Proven people leadership and team development experience
  • Exceptional planning, organisational and project management skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in event management or project management software and Microsoft Office
  • The flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when events require it
  • A calm solutions focused approach and the ability to perform under pressure
