Senior Engineer

Dobbie has spent 35 years helping New Zealand’s industrial sector build safer, more reliable, and more productive plants. We’re growing, and we’re looking for a senior engineer who enjoys complex problems, great clients, and meaningful work.

Mechanical, process, industrial, or structural background — we’re open on the discipline. What we need is the depth and judgement to lead engineering delivery on real industrial projects.

What you’ll do

• Lead engineering on projects from 3 months to 3 years duration
• Work across greenfield and brownfield sites with project values from $1m to $400m
• Lead and develop a team of 3 to 5 engineers and designers — coaching, workload planning, capability growth
• Set technical direction and guide multidisciplinary delivery
• Build strong client relationships and shape practical, reliable solutions
• Support site work, commissioning, QA, risk, and delivery
• Contribute to a supportive, values-driven, good-humoured team

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years industrial or process engineering experience
• Experience leading medium to large capital projects
• Strong judgement, standards knowledge, and communication
• Leadership capability and a genuine interest in developing people
• A collaborative, proactive approach
• CPEng a bonus, or progressing toward it
