About the role 

We’re looking for an experienced data engineer to build and own the data warehouse behind our analytics platform and help us build out the next generation of analytics tooling for tax.

In this role, you’ll guide technical direction, lead key design decisions and support engineers to deliver data for analytics and AI use cases. You’ll be part of a team shaping the future of global tax administration, helping governments operate more effectively, improve fairness and protect the revenue that funds public services.

Day to day, you’ll design data architectures optimised for machine learning and AI, enable high-quality data for model training and inference, and use AI assisted tooling to improve development speed, data quality and platform reliability.

What you’ll do 

• Design and build the data warehouse that underpins our analytics platform 

• Design, build and maintain analytics ready data models, with a strong focus on dimensional modelling 

• Develop and optimise dbt Core and dlt models to deliver datasets for analytics and reporting 

• Build and support ETL and ELT pipelines using SQL and Python 

• Work closely with cross functional teams to enable self service analytics across compliance and risk use cases  • Continuously improve data quality, performance and engineering standards

What will you bring? 

• Senior data engineer with production machine learning experience (ETL/ELT, SQL, data validation and transformation) 

• Experience with Airflow 3, dbt Core and dlt 

• Experience with PostgreSQL as a warehouse engine 

• Experience with Python, scikit-learn and MLflow 

• Experience with Evidently or similar tools for drift detection 

• Knowledge of tax administration or debt collections is a bonus 

• Experience with Power BI or another BI tool is a bonus 

• OpenMetadata experience is a bonus 

• Interpersonal skills and the ability to consult and influence stakeholders 

• A problem solving and analytical mindset with attention to detail 

• Consistently takes responsibility for their work and works well in a team
